B is for Bill Knapp's restaurant.
If you're from the Midwest, you might remember Bill Knapp's. This restaurant is a nostalgic part of my childhood in Kalamazoo. My family would often go there for birthday celebrations because of the delicious chocolate cake. After the meal, the waitress would bring it out with one candle burning bright in the center.
The last Bill Knapp's closed around 2002, but it turns out I'm not the only one who has fond memories of it. There is an entire Facebook page devoted to remembering it.
If you're from Michigan or the Midwest, did you ever go to Bill Knapp's? What was your favorite food there? If you've never heard of it, do you have any restaurants in your past that evoke this type of nostalgia?

Never been in that part of the country, but I remember going with Mom and Dad to places for my birthday and having the waitresses sing happy birthday, while blowing out the candle on ice cream. Later, we took my Grandpa to the same restaurant, and one of the waitresses kissed him on top of the head. It was, I believe, only the second time I ever saw the man speechless!
